Abstract
In order to optimize the network planning, support and guide the development of Shanghai metropolitan region, the existing rail transit network planning of Shanghai was assessed on the basis of the practical operation. Three main problems were analyzed including single line type, unreasonable lo⁃cal network structure and overly centralized hubs. With deeply studying the city developing trends, it was put forward that the three spheres which consist of"central city","community circle"and"econom⁃ic circle"will be formed in the future. Based on the characteristics of traffic demand in different spheres, some planning concepts are necessary to be changed to improve the overall operation efficiency in the new round of Shanghai rail transit network planning. It is of great significance to develop inter-city rail and regional express line system to build a multi-level rail network. And the rail transit hubs layout also needs optimizing to strengthen the cohesion between the different levels of rail transit.关键词
