Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of posterior short-segment thoracolumbar fracture fixation combined with frac-ture level screw in the treatment of unstable thoracolumbar burst fractures.Methods:Twenty-four patients with unstable thoracolumbar burst fractures were treated by short-segment posterior instrumentation with fracture level screw incorporation.Clinical result(Oswestry Disability Index ) and radiologic parameters( percentage of anterior body height compression , local kyphosis and upper intervertebral an-gle) were evaluated before surgery, after surgery, and at follow-up.Results:The average follow-up was 16 months.Clinical result ac-cording to ODI was satisfying.Anterior body height and local kyphosis were corrected satisfactorilly intraoperatively and maintained stable until final follow-up.Conclusion:Inclusion of the fracture level into the construct offers a satisfactory clinical result, providingd good in-traoperative kyphosis correction and maintenance in the treatment of unstable thoracolumbar burst fractures.关键词
