Reactive dyeing mechanism of flax fabric modified by low molecular weight chitosan quaternary ammonium salts

Abstract
The flax fabric was modified by low molecular weight chitosan quaternary ammonium salt. The curves of dyeing rate and adsorption isotherm of the modified flax fabric dyed with reactive dyes was drawn and were fitted with statistical models, the related parameter data were calculated. The results showed that the curve of dyeing rate conformed to pseudo-second-order model and pseudo-first-order model fairly. The dyeing adsorption process conformed to non-orientation and multilayer adsorption process. The adsorption isotherm conformed to Langmuir model and Freundlich model fairly. Both orientation absorption and non-orientation adsorption existed in the dyeing process. The dyeing equilibrium absorption capacity and the dyeing affinity decreased as the temperature rose. The dyeing heat was -27.586 kJ/mol, which showed that the dyeing process was exothermal. The dyeing entropy was-0.056 5 kJ/(mol·K), which indicated that the orientation degree of the reactive dyes on the fabric was little.关键词
