摘要

Abstract

Low rate applications accounted for the largest share of IoT applications, which are featured as low power and low cost at the same time. In order to meet the demands of such applications, 3GPP has established Cat1/Cat0, as well as Cat.M and NB-IoT which will be frozen soon as a standard. This paper depicted the evolution of these low rate cellular communication technology, and also compared Cat.M and NB-IoT from the point of technology background, progress of standard, technical parameters, application scenarios, network deployment etc., answered the key question about the prospect and application of the two technology.
