Abstract
Objective:To explore the expression levels of serum IL-4 and IL-8 before and after the treatment of chronic periodontitis.Methods:38 cases of patients with chronic periodontitis were as the observation group.20 cases of healthy persons without oral diseases were as the control group.Patients in the observation group were given periodontal treatment and minocycline treatment.The probing depth,plaque index,bleeding index,serum IL-4 levels,serum IL-8 levels before treatment,6 weeks after treatment,12 weeks after treatment between groups were compared.Results:Before treatment,the PD,PI,BI of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01).After treatment,the PD,PI,BI of the observation group decreased.12 weeks after treatment,the differences of PD,PI,BI between the observation group and the control group were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Before treatment,the serum IL-4,IL-8 levels of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01).After treatment,the serum IL-4,IL-8 levels of the observation group decreased.12 weeks after treatment,the differences of serum IL-4, IL-8 levels between the observation group and the control group were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:The expression levels of serum IL-4 and IL-8 in patients with chronic periodontitis were significantly higher than those in the healthy people.The periodontal basic therapy and minocycline treatment could decrease the serum IL-4 and IL-8 expression levels of the patients.关键词
