摘要

Abstract

Objective To investigate the antibacterial activity of several extracts from Fructus Chebulae in vitro. Methods Threeextracts were obtained by extracting Fructus Chebulae with water,ethylacetate and 95% ethanol re-spectively.Minimal inhibitory concentrations MIC) and minimal bactericidal concentrations MBC) of the extracts to Acinetobacter baumanii,Escherichia coli,Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcusaureuswere detected by double dilu-tion method.Antibacterial activity of the extracts to pan-resistant Acinetobacter baumanii strains collected from clinic was estimated by the same method.Results Water extract had the best antibacterial activity among the extracts.All of the three extracts showed antibacterial activity to four kinds of tested bacteria,especially to Acinetobacter baumanii. Conclusion Fructus Chebulae extracts can inhibit bacteria growth in vitro and are expected to be used as antibacteri-al agents in clinical therapy especially for infections of resistant bacteria.
