The modeling methods of complex faults and the output file for Adina program

Abstract
Numerical simulation is an indispensable branch of geo-scientiifc research, in which, modeling of the research object is a key and difficult point. The common numerical calculation software has shortcomings such as having weak data modeling capabilities or being complex in modeling, which greatly limit the accuracy and precision of the results of calculations. In this study, we modeled the complex geological structure of Xianshuihe, Anninghe and longmenshan fault zone and its surrounding area in North-South seismic belt with the Petrel software. We solved the difficulties of connection, cutting between complex faults (such as tilted faults or listric faults) with considering the inlfuence of terrain. Furthermore, data interface between Petrel and Adina was built to realize mutual transplantation of grid data. Taking the 3D geological model of Xianshuihe and Longmenshan faults for example, we provide a new way of combining the quickly model and ifnite element calculation by the Petrel and Adina software sets.关键词
