Research progress of MRI in autism spectrum disorder
摘要
Abstract
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a common neurodevelopmental disorder, MRI provides a powerfulapproach for research of ASD. Traditional MRI shows an increased brain volume, otherwise no positive finding in most ofpatients with ASD at a young stage. Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) has revealed that adolescents and adults with ASD are characterized by generally lower fractional anisotropy (FA) in many white matter tracts, whereas young children with ASD are featured by increased FA. The results of functional MRI (fMRI) suggest that the functional network connectivity and activation of brain regions associated with social cognition, communication and executive control are reduced. The resting-state fMRI has a great potential to reveal the pathological mechanism of ASD. The sleeping resting-state fMRI will become an importanttool in the research of infant and toddler ASD. The research progress of structural and functional MRI in ASD was reviewed.关键词
