Abstract

Effects of a lignin-based amphiphilic polymer GCL1-J on mortar structure and properties were investigated. The dispersion performance of GCL1-J was studied by scanning electron microscope, mercury intrusion porosimetry and thermal analysis, and micropattern, pore distribution and hydrated products were compared. Experimental results show that compared with ordinary Portland cement mortar, when GCL1-J dosage is 0.3%(wt), the water-containing ratio decreases by 3.1%, the water-retention ratio increases by 6.9%, and the compressive strength and impermeability increase by 157% and 241%, respectively. GCL1-J accelerates the generation of AFt and CSH, which improves pore distribution and decreases porosity that causes the increase of strength and hardness of mortar. This study gives a new method for the application of black liquor in mortar.
