摘要

Abstract

This study was conducted to demonstrate the feeding preferences and the effect of preferences, tempera-ture, and size on the food intake ofRapana venosa by using the feeding preferences coefficient, total food intake, and other parameters. The predation ofR. venosa was species selective, with a clear preference forSinonovacula constricta,Solen gouldi, andMactra chinensis. The average wet weight consumption rate did not depend on the type of diets. With increasing temperature, the variation in the food intake was consistent amongR. venosa species with different shell lengths. The predation ofR. venosa started when the temperature reached 7℃ and massively increased at >16℃ and reached a peak at approximately 22℃. ForR. venosawith different specifications, along with the increase in shell length, the food intake per unit body weight decreased gradually; the lowest predation temperature decreased initially and then increased.R. venosawith the shell length ranging from 50 to 70 mm had the lowest predation temperature. This study provides a theoretical basis for the culture ofR. venosa and a reference for the potential ecological impacts of the invasion ofR. venosato recipient ecosystems.
