The expression of Th1 Th2 Th17-related cytokines and human β-defensins in saliva of patients with erosive oral lichen planus

Abstract
Objective:To explore the expression of Th1 Th2 Th17-related cytokines and HBD-2,-3 in saliva of patients with erosive oral lichen planus, and to analyze the effects of these cytokines on EOLP. Method:30 EOLP patients were enrolled in the study, as well as 20 age-and sex-matched controls. The levels of cytokines including IL-1β,TNF-α,IL-6, IL-17,IFN-γ,IL-4,IL-10 in saliva were detected by cytometric bead array, and HBD-2,-3 levels were detected by ELISA. Result:A significantly higher levels of salivary IL-1β, IL-6, HBD-2 and HBD-3 were detected in EOLP patients than in controls (P<0.05), but there is no significant difference of TNF-α,IL-17,IFN-γ,IL-4 and IL-10 levels between EOLP patients and healthy controls(P>0.05). The levels of salivary HBD-2 in patients were positively related to IFN-γand negatively related to IL-17. Salivary HBD-3 levels were negatively related to IL-17 and IL-10. Conclusion:The study indicated that salivary IL-1β,IL-6,HBD-2 and HBD-3 levels might be closely related to the development of EOLP.关键词
