Impact of Gratitude and Happiness on Job Performance of Nurses

Abstract
Objective To understand the impact of gratitude and happiness on job performance and the correlation between gratitude and happiness. Methods A stratified cluster sampling was used to collect data from 311 registered nurses. Research instruments included demographic data form, the Gratitude Questionnaire-Six Item Form, Affect meter-Happiness and Six Dimension Scale of Nursing Performance. Results The total mean score and standard deviation of the gratitude and nurses ' job performance was at a high level but the happiness among clinical registered nurses was at a moderate level. There was a positive correlation between nurses' gratitude, happiness and their job performance (P<0.05). Conclusion Gratitude and happiness are positively correlated with nursing job performance. Nursing managers should fully understand the positive psychological characteristics of each individual nurses, and further optimize the nursing human resources, improve the quality of nursing and improve the performance of nursing work.关键词
