Abstract
Purpose/Significance] To deepen our understanding of knowledge process in R&D teams, the duality of knowledge creation and knowledge integration in R&D teams in electric vehicle fields is analyzed from a perspective of the cognitive differences between aca-demic research and product development, rather than the tacit-explicit knowledge conversion. [ Method/Process] Based on interviews and survey data of Chinese R&D teams in electric vehicle field, this paper empirically examines the relations between knowledge creation, cognitive conflict and heterogeneous ties outside a team through a linear regression method. [ Result/Conclusion] The results show that knowledge creation and integration are positively related, and that heterogeneous ties outside a team are positively related to its knowledge creation, mediated by cognitive conflicts in the team. These findings uncover the micro foundations of the complicated knowledge creating process in R&D teams and are therefore beneficial for government agencies to make feasible R&D policies.关键词
