Abstract

To find out the adaptability of the boiler and its auxiliary equipments in a power plant to coal blending,and provide operational experiences for the future,the Australian coal was mixed and used in a power plant boiler with domestic Youhun coal.The anti-balancing efficiency of the boiler was calculated ac-cording to two standards:the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)standrd and National Standard of China (GB).The uncertainty of the boiler efficiency was also analyzed using the above two standards based on seven main influencing parameters of the boiler efficiency.The results showed that,by ASME standrd,the boiler efficiency was 93.73% and 93.83% respectively for case 1(burning Youhun coal solely)and case 2 (m(Australian coal)∶m(Youhun coal)=1∶1 ).While by GB,the boiler efficiency was 93.10% and 93.28% respectively for the case 1 and 2.Mixing Australian coal increased the boiler efficien-cy slightly.By ASME standrd,the uncertainty of the boiler efficiencyU95(η)was 0.210% and 0.218% for the case 1 and 2.While by GB,the uncertainty of the boiler efficiencyU95(η)was 0.244% and 0.256% for the case 1 and 2.The uncertainty of the boiler efficiency was very small,suggesting the quality of boiler ef-ficiency measurement was very high.
