Impact of Repeated Use of Dexmedetomidine and Propofol on the Ability of Learning and Memory in Adult Rats
摘要
Abstract
Objective To observe the impact of repeated use of dexmedetomidine (Dex) and propofol on the ability of learning and memory in adult rats. Methods Forty 8-week-old SD rats were randomly divided into four groups (n=10):propofol group (group P), Dex group (group D), Dex combined with propofol group (group DP ) and normal saline group (group NS ). Group P received 30 mg/kg of propofol, group D received 30μg/kg of Dex, group DP received 30 mg/kg of propofol and 30μg/kg of Dex, group NS was given the same amount of NS, all drugs were injected by caudal vein, once daily for 5 consecutive days, then the ability of learning and memory were tasted after Morris water maze experiments. Results In place navigation test, the difference of the first four days of latency between group P and group D, group DP, group NS was statistical (P<0.05), the latency period of group P was significantly longer than that of group DP, group D, group NS (P<0.05);the difference of the first four days of latency between group D and group DP, group NS was not significant (P>0.05), and the latency period in the first day of three groups was longer than that in the second day, third day and fourth day (P<0.05). In the space exploration test, the difference among each group was not statistical (P>0.05). Conclusions Dexmedetomidine has protective effect on the brief injury of learning and memory ability resulting from anesthesia with propofol under sedation dose in adult rats.关键词
