Abstract
PBO fiber is not resistant to strong protonic acid. PBO fiber was treated by polyphosphoric ac⁃id with different concentrations for different time, the mechanical properties and the change of the surface morphology were discussed. After PPA treatment, the strength of PBO fiber was decreased, and the surface morphology changed. The strength of PBO was somewhat reduced and the roughness of the fiber surface was increased by low concentration PPA treatment for short time; by high concentration PPA treatment for long time, the strength of PBO fiber lowered rapidly, and the surface fibers largely peeled off, even the microfi⁃bers in the core were corrosive and the fibers lost the application value. To ensure the wearability value of fi⁃bers, the PBO fiber should be treated with low concentration of PPA for shorter time, which could improve the surface inertia of fibers.关键词
