Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of fenestration associated with obturator in the treatment of juvenile jaw cysts. Methods 14 juvenile patients with large jaw cysts were reviewed and made extraction of the deciduous teeth and fenestration. Meanwhile, to make a special obturator according to dentition characteristics and location of decompression to ensure the continuous drainage of the cystic fluid. Regular examination and follow-up visits were made after surgery. Results The cysts cavity had been gradually reduced by clinical examination and replaced by the new bone by X-ray examination. The growth of jaw and eruption of dental germ were uninfluenced. Conclusion Fenestration is a simple and effective method in the juvenile jaw cysts.关键词
