The role of chief resident in advanced training of otolaryngology head and neck surgery fellows
摘要
Abstract
The unique characteristics of otolaryngology head and neck surgery practice determine the necessity of the advanced fellowship training, and the duties and responsibilities of the chief resident defines his/her roles as a facilitator in advanced fellowship education, including organizing adequate lectures and presentations, encouraging learning initiatives, assigning appropriate work responsibilities and loads, ensuring compliance in medical records documentation, and improv-ing learning experiences using advanced teaching tools including digital multimedia devices. Our experiences indicate that emphasizing the roles of the chief resident in advanced fellowship education can be valuable to both clinical teaching and smooth day to day practice and is worth being adopted by similar fellowship education programs.关键词
