Histochemical Localization of Mucous Cells and Six Types of Enzymes in Digestive Tract of Siniperca Chautsi

Abstract
The distribution and localization of mucous cells and six types of enzymes in the digestive tract of Siniperca chautsi were investigated by AB-PAS (alcian blue and periodic acid schiff’s reaction)staining and enzyme histochemi-cal method.The mucous cells could be divided into four types,most of mucous cells in esophagus were type Ⅲ and Ⅳcells,no typeⅠ and Ⅱ cells were found;only typeⅠmucous cells were detected in the mucosal epithelia of stomachus cardiacus and stomachus pyloricus,while the mucous cells in the stomachus corpus were mainly type Ⅲ cells;the mu-cous cells in pyloric caeca were mainly type Ⅱ cells;most of mucous cells in pre-intestine and mid-intestine were typeⅣ cells,typeⅠcells were the least ones;while the mucous cells in hind-intestine were mainly type Ⅱ and Ⅳ cells.Acid phosphatase(ACP)was mainly distributed in the mucosal epithelia of the pyloric caeca and pre-intestine;Alkaline phosphatase(ALP)mainly existed in the mucosal epithelia of the esophagus,pyloric caeca and the whole intestine;Nonspecific esterase (NSE)was mainly distributed in the mucosal epithelia of the stomachus pyloricus,mid-intestine and hind-intestine.Peroxidase(POX)was detected with higher activity in the mucosal epithelia of stomachus pyloricus. Succinate dehydrogenase(SDH)was mainly located in the gastric gland of stomach.Adenosine triphosphatase(ATPase) was detected with higher activity in the whole digestive tract.The distribution pattern of the mucous cells and enzymes in the digestive tract of Siniperca chautsi was similar to that of other animals,but some specific features have also been ob-served,which conform with the physiological function in the different parts of digestive tract.关键词
