Abstract

Soil is taken for a temporary depots of phosphorus nutrition to crops,and it has the capacity of phosphorus sorption-desorption.This ability not only restricts the availability of phosphate fertilizer,but also effects the loss of soil phosphorus.In order to alleviated the environmental risk of cropland phosphorus loss,it is urgently necessary to rational utilization of agricultural wastes and enhance phosphorus storage capacity in soil.In this study,we elected five different agricultural waste,including:water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes ),bamboo (Bambusaceae )stem,straw, walnut (J uglans regia L.)shell and pine (Pinus thunbergii )needles and they were carbonized.The simulate experi-ments was conducted by five biochars of phosphorus adsorption-desorption capacity of KH 2 PO4. Then,straw biochar was choose because it has better phosphorus fixation capability,and it was amended to red soil by different ratios (mass ratio):0% (control),0.1%,0.2% and 0.5% to understand effects of biochar amendment to soil on phosphate adsorption-desorption ability.The results showed that the maximum adsorption of these five kinds of biochar which were fitted by Langmuir phosphorus isothermal adsorption equation were in order:water hyacinth(2 906.98 mg·kg-1 )> straw (2 702.70 mg·kg-1 )> bamboo (2 469.14 mg·kg-1 )> pine needles (2 21 7.29 mg·kg-1 )> walnut shell (2 336.45 mg·kg-1 ).With the increasing number times of the absorbed phosphorus desorption,the desorption capaci-ty of the five studied biochars on phosphorus increased.Especially during the first four times,phosphorus desorption was very quickly,up to 0.52~1.90 mg·L-1 .Straw biochar added could enchanceadsorption capacity of soil on phos-phorus.The different proportions order of enhancement effect was:0.5%>0.2%>0.1%>0. But adding straw bio-char to soil had no significant influence on soil phosphorus desorption capability.Water hyacinth biochar had thestron-gest adsorption capability to phosphorus among the five tested biochars,and straw biochar was the second ranked. However,because of the low productivity of water hyacinth biochar(only about 0.79%),straw biochar became the best choice for both productivity (about 2.79%)and adsorption capability on phosphorus.Straw biochar added by 0.5% ratio to soil could better improve the adsorption capacity of soil on phosphorus.
