Abstract

An electrochemical sensing platform (MFC/GCE)was developed based on the composite of multi-walled carbon nano-tubes (MWNT)and chitosan (CTS),which was characterized by elec-trochemical impedance spectroscopy.The electrochemical behaviors and the simultaneous detection of Bisphenol A (BPA)and p-Nitroaniline (PNA)were studied by cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry.The results indicated that this modified electrode exhibited excellent electrocata-lytic activity towards the oxidation of BPA and PNA.BPA and PNA showed two well-defined oxida-tion peaks at 0.405 V and 0.817 V at the modified electrode in pH 8.0 PBS buffer solution.The oxi-dation peaks of BPA and PNA were separated at 412 V.Under the optimal conditions,the linear re-sponse of BPA was between 5.0×10-7mol/L and 1.0×10-4mol/L(r=0.997 0);the detection limit was 2.0×10-7mol/L;the linear response of PNA was between 1.0×10-6mol/L and 1.0×10-3mol/L (r=0.996 0),and the detection limit was 1.0×10-6mol/L.The MFC/GCE revealed good sensitivi-ty,selectivity and stability for simultaneous determination of BPA and PNA.The method has been applied to the simultaneous detection of BPA and PNA in waste water with the recovery of 98.7% to 103%.
