差距与努力：中美大学生体育态度比较研究
Gaps and Efforts:A Comparative Study of American and Chinese University Students’Attitude Toward Sports

Abstract
Using methods of survey statistics and literature,this article studies college students'sports attitude in China and America,discusses the main elements constructing students’sports attitude and their different understanding of it.The results show that there are significant differences between Chinese male students and the female ones and that the male college students reveal more positive atti-tude towards sports than females.There are not many differences between different majors but the uncertainty of the attitude toward sports for different majors appears to be increased.As for American students,males and females of all maj ors have a high similarity and consistency in understanding sports or sports attitude.Hence American college students'sports attitude is of relative stability and more clarity.The proportion of American students with uncertain attitude is significantly lower than that of Chinese students.Both Chinese and American college students get higher scores on the top five basic items,indicating that students from both of the countries have something in common with re-spect to their attitude towards sports,which could provide some guidance for the future P.E.teaching in China.关键词
