摘要

Abstract

The flywheel energy storage system ( FESS) has many advantages such as high energy density, fast charge, high efficiency, pollution-free, longevity of service. As a new type of impetus of electric vehicle, the FESS was being paid more and more attention. The structure and principle of vehicle FESS were first described. Then based on the characteristics of FESS, its applications in different kinds of electric vehicles were introduced. Finally, the importance of the flywheel materials, high-performance motor and magnetic bearing technology for vehicle flywheel is pointed out and their development status at home and abroad was introduced in detail.
