SSR Modeling Method Based on Bus Importance Index

Abstract
There is no quantitative method identifying proper boundary of subsynchronous resonance (SSR) modeling and ensuring established model meeting accuracy requirements. This paper proposes that frequency dependent characteristics (FDC) of driving-point impedances (DPI) is critical factor for negative electrical damping of subsynchronous torsional modes. Then, the bus importance index is defined based on deviations of FDCs of DPIs and applied to develop a quantitative method for identifying proper SSR modeling boundary. The proposed method can ensure model accuracy and improve modeling efficiency. Finally, modified IEEE 39-Bus system is used to validate the proposed method, and simulation results justify the proposed method for SSR modeling.关键词
