Abstract
Subacute ruminal acidosis ( SARA ) is a common chronic digestive disorder in high⁃yielding dairy cows fed highly digestible grain diets, and to reveal the occurrence mechanisms of SARA and the effects of thi⁃amine on SARA were the important scientific problems for modern intensive ruminant production. This paper reviewed the application effect of thiamine on ruminant production, the factors affecting thiamine synthesis in the rumen, the relationship between thiamine and SARA as well as the possible regulating routes of thiamine to relieve SARA, and further revealed the occurrence mechanisms of SARA and the physiological function of thi⁃amine, thus provided the theory reference for ruminant production.关键词
