摘要

Abstract

Metastasis is responsible for the poor prognosis of patients with malignant tumors. Epithelial⁃mesenchymal transition ( EMT) is a complex process, which regulates the cell morphology and function during embryogenesis and tissue development. It plays an important role in tumor metastasis. It is known that gene expression is regulated by epigenetic modifications, inclu⁃ding histone methylation. Histone demethylases regulate gene expression through demethylating mono⁃, di⁃, or tri⁃methylated lysine. Accumulating studies show that histone lysine demethylases ( KDMs) play a pivot role in the regulation of EMT⁃related genes. This paper reviews the recent ad⁃vances of KDMs in the EMT process of human malignant tumors.
