Emerging technology promotes higher education to form innovative culture:Interpretation and enlightenment of NMC Horizon Report:2016 Higher Education Edition

Abstract
Since 2004,thirteen horizon reports have been published by New Media Consortium (NMC)in the U.S.,which predict the impact of emerging technologies on the field of higher education and actively respond to education reform brought by technologies in the future development of high education.The 2016 Horizon Report predicts that there will be six technologies coming into the mainstream of higher education in next five years,namely,bringing your own device (BYOD),learning analytics and adaptive learning (which will be adopted in one year or less),augmented and virtual reality and maker's space (which will be adopted in two to three years),affective computing and robotics (which will be adopted in four to five years).The short-term trend for higher education to adopt tech-nology is growing focus on measuring learning and increasing use of blended learning designs;the mid-term trend is focusing designing learning space and shifting to deeper learning approaches;and the long-term trend is advancing culture of innovation and rethinking how institutions work.The solvable challenges impeding technology adoption in higher education are blending formal and informal learning and improving digital literacy,the difficult challenges are competing models of education and person-alizing learning,and the wicked challenges are balancing our connected and unconnected lives and keeping education relevant.The development of higher education in the future needs to reshape the business process to make fundamental changes in the way of learning,teaching and management,promote the formation of innovation culture,create strong innovation atmosphere to make higher education become the engine of stimulating creation-oriented economy.关键词
