中国原木进口与国际原木非法贸易问题的若干思考

Abstract
Based on the analysis of China��s timber supply and demand, recognized that the contradic-tion of supply shortage and high import dependence in recent years, this paper discussed the relation-ship between China��s timber imports and international illicit trade in illegal logging. The high depend-ence of China��s log imports, poor timber imports firewall system, the absent of timber import threshold and imperfect industry self-regulatory mechanism, provides an opportunity for illegal timber trade. To study it further , this paper analyzed China��s log import demand by using of variant import demand model under the condition of international anti illegal trade. The result shows that China��s timber im-port is becoming more reasonable. The proportion of timber import from U. S. and New Zealand is in-creasing, while that from illegal timber trade zone is decreasing. Based on the study, we suggest that China should improve the productivity of timber domestically and promote the development of a sound timber verify system . At the same time, China should take the responsibility of great power by helping the development of a sound timber verify system in poor countries.关键词
