The Effect of Entrepreneurship on Economic Growth
摘要
Abstract
This paper,employing provincial panel data during the period of 1998—2013 in China,examines the influence of entrepreneurship on economic growth by introducing the entrepreneurship variable.The estimated result shows that entrepreneurship has significantly positive effect on economic growth.However,further instrumental variables estimation and robustness analysis reveal that,although the positive effect is causal,that above is,increase of entrepreneurship rate promotes economic growth,comparing to the driving effect on economic growth of capital accumulation,the impact of entrepreneurship on economic growth is still relatively limited.To make the entrepreneurship an inexhaustible source of the future economic growth,the governments need to both encourage mass entrepreneurship and guide the tight combination of entrepreneurship and capital accumulation in order to fully develop their cooperative effect on economic growth.关键词
