Effect of Otago Exercise Programme on Moving Performance and Falls Efficacy of Elderly Patients with Dyskinesia in Sequela Period of Cerebral Hemorrhage
摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of Otago exercise programme on moving performance and falls efficacy of elderly patients with dyskinesia in sequela period of cerebral hemorrhage. Methods From August 2012 to August 2015, 94 elderly patients in sequela period of cerebral hemorrhage were divided equally into 2 groups in accordance with random number table. The 2 groups were observation group and control group with 47 patients in each of them. Patients in control group participated in the follow-up guidance including the post-hemorrhage health care knowledge and daily life exercises. Meanwhile, patients in observation group also participated in Otago Exercise Programme (OEP) for 24 weeks in addition to what was conducted in control group. All patients were evaluated for their body balance ability, limb movement function, walking ability and falls efficacy at baseline and after intervention. Results On the end of 24th week of intervention, compared with that of control group, the scores of observation group in body balance ability, limb movement function and falls efficacy were higher (P<0.05). While the time of Timed ‘Up and Go’ Test in observation group was shorter than that of control group (P<0.05). Conclusion OEP plays an crucial role in the promotion of body balance ability, limb movement function, walking ability and falls efficacy in elderly patients in sequela period of cerebral hemorrhage and it is worth to be popularized clinically.关键词
