摘要

Abstract

Master of Translation and Interpreting(MTI),a new training mode for postgraduate students majoring in foreign languages,aims to cultivate highly qualified and professional translation and interpreting talents who can meet the requirements of domestic translation market. After several years’operation,MTI programs in finance and economics universities in China have accumulated experiences but have encountered difficulties too. They have difficulty in making the curricula more adaptive to the requirements of China’s translation market and in ensuring the courses offered can better contribute to the cultivation of competitive translators. By analyzing the situation of MTI programs in finance and economics universities and discussing the demand and requirements of translators in finance and economics sector,the author concludes that MTI curriculums of finance and economics universities must be improved,and that it is necessary to offer courses targeting in enhancing students’ language competence and bilingual skills,courses targeting in improving students’knowledge structure,and courses targeting in strengthening students’translation ability so that the MTI program in universities of finance and economics can cultivate translators who can meet the requirements of China’s economic,cultural and social development.
