Abstract

A 3D elastic-plastic finite element model is built for the stability analysis of the wharf supported on immersed large cylinders by applying ABAQUS finite element software. Elastic model is used to simulate the cylinder; Coulomb-Mohr yield rule is adopted to build the soil constitutive model. Interface element is set to simulate the sliding, tension fissures and closure between cylinder and soil body. Coulomb friction constitutive model is used for tangent direction of the interface, and hard contact is used for normal direction of the interface. By defining the loading coefficient and the stability criterion for the immersed large cylinder wharf,the method of discriminating stability by using loading factor-displacement curve is put forward. As for the structural plan of one immersed large cylinder wharf project, finite element method is used to calculate the wharf stability and analyze the influence of different soil indices on the wharf stability, which proves the feasibility of applying finite element method to the stability analysis of immersed large cylinder wharf.
