摘要

Abstract

Intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1, CD54) is a member of the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily. It is critical for the firm arrest and transmigration of leukocytes out of blood vessels and into inflammatory tissue. Migration of leukocytes from the systemic circulation into inlfamed lung tissue is mediated by interactions between leukocyte surface and endothelial adhesion molecules (e.g., ICAM-1), which plays an important role in the pathogenesis of asthma. In this review we wil elaborate the progress of ICAM-1 and its expression regulation in asthma research.
