Abstract
Obj ective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture for treating simple obesity complicated with knee osteoarthritis ( KOA) .Methods:Fifty cases of simple obesity complicated with KOA were randomly di -vided into two groups:the treatment group ( 30 cases ) and the control group ( 18 cases ) .Based on TCM syn-drome differentiation , the treatment group was treated by combination of body acupuncture and the warming nee -dle moxibustion on knee .In the control group , warm needling technique was applied on knee only .The obesity indexes , the scores of joint pain in the patients were observed and compared before and after treatment .Re-sults:The treatment in either group achieved the effectiveness .The effective percentage of the treatment group was 87.50%, and the effective percentage of the control group was 72 .22%.The effective rate in the treat-ments group was obviously superior to that in the control group .The obesity indexes and the scores of joint pain in the treatment group were all apparently improved as compared with those treatments .There were statistically significant differences .Conclusion:The therapeutic effect based on TCM syndrome differentiation is better .The acupuncture has both weight -reducing and analgesic effects on simple obesity complicated with KOA .关键词
