Sound Transmission Loss Measurement by Using Two-microphone Method in a Standing-wave Pipe

摘要

Abstract

The sound transmission performance of the acoustic material can be measured in the standing-wave pipe by using the double-microphone method. The front surface impedances of the acoustic material can be determined if the beck surface impedances are known. So the arguments which are associated with the four elements of the transfer matrix can be calculated. And the sound transmission loss of the acoustic material can be easily obtained. In this paper, several samples were tested in the standing-wave pipe. Comparing the results with the experimental results from the four-microphone method, the double-microphone method was verified effective for measuring the sound transmission loss.
