摘要

Abstract

An indicator system for the Wei River,China,the Flow Regime Indicator System for the Wei River (FRISW),is proposed.This indicator system has referred to previous systems proposed by others, especially the indicators of hydrologic alteration (IHA)and the taiwan ecohydrology indicator system (TEIS), and the local aquatic ecosystem characteristics of the Wei River.Range of variation approach (RVA)was then used to analyze changes in flow regime based on FRISW,which consists of four groups,reflecting magnitude, frequency,duration,timing and change rate of extreme flows.It was found that flow regimes at two sites, Linjiacun and Lintong,have been markedly altered by human activities since 1986,therefore in future water resources management and aquatic conservation more attention should be paid at these two sites.
