Degradation of UDMH Wastewater with High Concentrations by Cu2+/H2 O2 Method

Abstract
Unsymmetrical dimethyl hydrazine (UDM H ) wastewater with high concentrations was degraded by Cu2+ /H2 O2 method .The main factors affecting the reaction and the optimum technological conditions were deter‐mined by the orthogonal experiment .Using the removal rate of UDM H in the wastewater as the detection index ,the degradation effect under optimum process conditions was investigated .Aiming at the problem about the low removal rate of chemical oxygen demand (COD) ,the change rule of degrading intermediate products ,formaldehyde and ni‐trosodimethylamine (NDMA) was discussed .The results show that when H2O2 molar dosage is 1 .5 times of the dosage which can make UDMH completely mineralized theoretically (1 .5Qth) ,initial pH value is 9 ,the molar ratio of Cu2+ /H2 O2 is 1∶10 ,the reaction temperature is 20 ℃ ,the degradation rate of UDM H in wastewater can reach to 98 .88% and the removal rate of COD reaches to 92 .59% after reacting for 120 minutes .However ,the Cu2+ /H2O2 method can generate toxic intermediates NDMA and formaldehyde ,and formaldehyde is rapidly degraded in the latter part of the reaction ,while NDMA is difficult to be eliminated .关键词
