Imaging studies for dysthyroid optic neuropathy
摘要
Abstract
enlarged extraocular muscles .Early diagnosis and timely treatment is essential for the curative effect and prognosis of the condition , and therefore avoiding permanent visual loss .Orbital imaging examination plays an important role both in the di-agnosis and assessment of DON .Imaging studies can be used to evaluate morphological abnormalities of the orbital struc-tures, to distinguish the inflammatory early stage from the inactive stage of the disease , and to monitor therapeutic re-sponse.Further, imaging studies can be of great help in identifying patients prone to develop dysthyroid optic neuropathy . This paper reviews the etiology , clinical features and imaging studies of DON , with special emphasis on the imaging stud-ies, including computed tomography , magnetic resonance imaging , and Doppler ultrasound .关键词
