Abstract
Abstruca Objective: To provide a guideline for the prevention of blindness and vision rehabilitation in the city of Luzhou and its surroundings by analyzing the clinical features and treatment methods of patients with age-related cataract in the affiliated hospital of the Southwest Medical University. Methods: A retrospective study of 813 patients (1 179 eyes) with age-related cataract admitted to the affiliated hospital of the Southwest Medical University from July, 2013 to December , 2015 were selected from the age-related cataract SQLite database. Their preoperative and postoperative visual acuity, operative methods and the price of intraocular lens were recorded and analyzed using SPSS17.0 including Chi-square test, T test and Rank Sum Test. Results: The mean age of males and females were (71.74 ± 8.92years)(70.33 ± 8.79 years) respectively. The differences of pre-operation visual acuity are significantly different among patients in terms of the educational levels, locations of residency, and with/without insurance (P < 0.05). 93.21% of eyes were treated with phacomeulsification and all patients chose to have foldable intraocular lens planted. At the first postoperative day, restoration rate of monocular vision to some degree was was 90.69%, and monocular vision off total blindness rate was 70.45%. Conclusion: The characteristics of this group of age related cataract surgery: Phaco emulsification combined with foldable intraocular lens implantation was the main mode of operation. There existed differences in operative age, pre-operation visual acuities, operative methods an intraocular lens selection.关键词
