Abstract

Objective] The aim was to analyze whether there was injury phenomenon by spraying MCPA on different varieties of hybrid foxtail millets growth ,to provide experimental basis for screening out herbicides .[Method] It was using a completely randomized design.Recom-mended dose MCPA was sprayed in hybrid foxtail millet at jointing stage in field experiment.Shape indexes ( plant height, leaf length, leaf width and stem diameter), physiological indexes (SOD, POD and MDA) and photosynthetic parameters (Pn and Tr) were tested after spra-ying 30 days.[ Result] The results showed that plant height, leaf length and stem diameter of Zhangza 3 had no significant effect, but leaf width had obvious promoting effect.SOD activity, POD activity and MDA content had no significant effect, but showed a slight upward trend. Pn and Tr were promoted significantly.Morphological indexes of Zhangza 12 had no significant effect.It had obvious inhibitory effect on SOD activity and Pn index, promotion effect on POD activity and Tr index significantly.The plant height, stem diameter and leaf width of Zhangza 13 had no significant impact, but obviously promoted the growth of leaf length.It had obvious inhibitory effect on SOD activity and no signifi-cant effect on POD activity and MDA content, but slightly inhibited the POD activity.[Conclusion] It shows that the MCPA could be used on three varieties of hybrid foxtail millet.
