Abstract
Objective To study the efficiency of pneumatic trabeculoplasty (PNT) in primary open-angle glaucoma ,and expe-rience patients compliance changes .Methods In this study we selected 30 patients(45 eyes) of primary open-angle glaucoma in our hospital from November 2012 to May 2014 .All subjects underwent ultrasonic biology microscope ,HRT-III(Heideberg Ret-ina Tomograph) ,Humphrey visual field examinations and 24-hour intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement using non-contact tonometer .One or two eyes of each one were treated with PNT Model 1000 (Ophthalmic International Inc .) .The ophthalmic slitlamp microscope examinations and IOP measurement were repeated at 1 day ,1 week ,2 weeks ,1 month and 2 months after PNT therapy .Results The IOP of 1 day ,1 week ,2 weeks ,1 month and 2 months after PNT therapy were less than that be-fore therapy(P<0.01) .In one year after therapy ,6 patients complete repeated treatment three times ,6 patients complete two times ,7 patients complete one times ,11 patients did not repeat treatment .Conclusion This small sample study of PNT showed a potentially good IOP lowing effect on the primary open-angle glaucoma and hypertensive patients .However ,patient compli-ance is poor ,they will loose the patience easily ,and the filtration of patients is so rigorous that the application of PNT will be limited .关键词
