Frequency Dividing Coordinated Control Strategy for Hybrid Energy Storage System of DC Micro-Grid

Abstract
The renewable energy in DC micro-gird system, such as wind and solar power, has the features of unpredictable power and intermittent outputs. To enhance the stability and reliability, it is necessary to combine energy storage components. The storage unit is made up of hybrid energy which consists of super capacitors and batteries. In this paper, a frequency dividing coordinated control strategy is introduced, which is suitable for DC micro-grid. The information of the power fluctuation can be extracted from the DC bus voltage, and then the invisible filters, namely a low-pass filter, a band-pass filter and a high-pass filter, are formed through the DC bus voltage loop and super capacitor voltage loop. The high, medium and low frequency power fluctuations are absorbed by the bus capacitor, the super capacitor and the battery respectively so as to fully exploit the advantages of battery and super capacitor, such as the high energy density of batteries, the high power density and long cycling life of super capacitor. Hence the storage performance is enhanced. Moreover, without adding extra hardware, the invisible filters are fulfilled by software which is flexible and adjustable. Finally, the experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed hybrid energy storage control strategy.关键词
