Abstract
Objective To investigate the efficacy of atorvastatin calcium in the treatment of carotid atherosclerosis.Methods 80 patients with carotid atherosclerosis admitted into our hospital from January,2014 to February,2015 were collected and randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group.The control group orally took simvastatin and the experimental group atorvastatin calcium.The plaque-related indicators,IMT,blood lipid,and related molecular indexes were compared between these two groups before and after the treatment.Results After the treatment,the diameter,thickness,and area of the plaque were smaller,the hard plaque ratio and the levels of IMT,TG,TC,LDL-C,BNP,Hs-CRP,and MCP-1 were lower,and the soft plaque ratio and the level of HDL-C were higher in the experiment group than in the control group,with statistical differences (P＜0.01).Conclusions Atorvastatin calcium in the treatment of carotid atherosclerosis is effective,so it is of reference in clinical practice.关键词
