Abstract
Objective To discuss the expression of plasma B-type pro-brain natriuretic peptide and its relation to clinico-pathologic characteristic of patients with acute cerebral infarction and its effect on prognosis. Methods Sixty-five cases of a-cute cerebral infarction patients were selected in the neurology department of our hospital. During the same period ,50 cases of routine physical examinees in our hospital were chosen. Plasma B-type pro-brain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP) in 2 groups was detected. The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) was used to evaluate neurological deficits . The severity of coma was evaluated by Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS). The area of cerebral infarction and the blood pressure were measured. Three months clinical follow up were performed in all patients. The relationship between plasma NT-proBNP and clinicopatho-logic characteristic of acute cerebral infarction was analyzed. Results Plasma NT-proBNP in acute cerebral infarction patients was obviously higher than that of healthy control group(P< 0.01). Plasma NT-proBNP in acute cerebral infarction patients was obviously related to scores of NIHSS ,GCS ,the area of cerebral infarction and hypertension(P< 0.01) ,and was not signifi-cantly associated with age and sex (P > 0.05). Acute cerebral infarction patients were followed up for 3 months and among them ,16 patients died and 49 survived. Plasma NT-proBNP in death group on admission was obviously higher than that of the survival group(P< 0.01). Conclusion Plasma NT-proBNP may be one of the important indexes to evaluate the condition and prognosis of acute cerebral infarction patients .关键词
