摘要

Abstract

Earth system model, which simulates behavior and variation of the climate system, plays a critical role in climate study.Atmospheric General Circulation Model(AGCM), which simulates the general circulation of the atmosphere through numerical integration, is a key component of an earth system model.Along with the fast development of geoscience, the resolution of AGCM is getting higher and higher.Although the rapid development of high-performance computers enables AGCM to achieve higher resolution, it has not been well studied how AGCM performs on modern high-performance com-puters.Grid-point Atmospheric Model of IAP(Institute of Atmospheric Physics)LASG(the State Key Laboratory of Numerical Modeling for Atmospheric Sciences and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics)(GAMIL)is selected as the representa-tion of AGCM to analyze performance characteristics and build a performance model for AGCM.The performance model provides a referee for predicting the performance characteristics and improving the performance of AGCM in future.
