Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the effect of cognitive behavior therapy on mental health and anxiety in ulcera-tive colitis patients.Methods:Sixty two ulcerative colitis patients were divided into two groups:30 patients in experimental group and 32 patients in control group.The patients in the experimental group received cognitive behavior therapy in addition to routine nursing care,while the control group received only routine nursing care. Before and after intervention,the patients were investigated with the Self Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and the self report symptom inventory,Symptom checklist,90(SCL 90).Results:After intervention,the scores of SAS in the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05);the scores of de-pression,hostility,terror,paranoia,psychosis factor in SCL 90 scale of two groups were significantly different (P<0.05).After intervention,the scores of each factors in the experimental group were significantly lower than thosebefore the intervention(P<0.05).Conclusion:Cognitive behavior therapy can reduce the level of anxiety and improve the mental health in ulcerative colitis patients.关键词
