Environmental Risks and Prevention Mechanism of Shale Gas Exploration
摘要
Abstract
The exploration of shale gas in China has to face the conflict between a strong demand for energy and environmental risks. Currently, researches on environmental risks of shale gas development in China are mainly introduction of foreign experiences, with empirical researches remaining limited. The paper not only sorts out the international experiences, but also investigates the practice of shale gas development in Fuling District, Chongqing. It is believed that environmental risks of shale gas development mainly include enormous water con-sumption and pollution, air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and other risks such as soil pollution, noise pol-lution and geological disasters, etc. It is suggested that the establishment of risk prevention mechanism should be considered on two levels. On the level of management, policies, laws and regulations as well as regulatory mech-anisms should be considered. On the level of practice, technological innovation and progress is the most important concern.关键词
