摘要
Abstract
Based on field study of five counties in Guizhou Province, Yunnan Province and Gansu Province, we found that most of the left-behind children in rural areas are well authorized by their families. Both the parents and the guardians of entrustment realize their duties, including taking care of the daily routine, study issue, safety and emotional needs of the children. The leaving-out of the parent( s) brings an adjustment of role struc-ture within family members for creating a new supporting way for those children. Unfortunately, there are still a few of family members fail to adjust or relocate their social roles in this process, which results in the mental im-balance, isolation or the lacking of security and support of some left-behind children. In the cases of divorce fam-ilies, self-guardian/living-alone and un-well-authorized families, the left-behind children are in urgent need of targeted support services. Thus, to learn the local knowledge of child-care in rural areas, to set up support net-work of the local guardians, to empower local people serving their own rural communities as well as to construct the rural communities are key methods to support the left-behind children.关键词
