Agronomic and Quality Traits Investigation and Disease Resistance Evaluation of Hexaploid Triticale Introduced from CIMMYT

Abstract
In order to provide references for applying excellent genes of Triticale into wheat breeding, taking 222 hexaploid Triticale germplasms,introduced from the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT),as materials,their 3 disease resistances,6 agronomic traits and 8 quality traits were in-vestigated.The results showed that 222 hexaploid Triticale germplasms all had high resistance to wheat stripe rust,leaf rust and powdery mildew.The average variation coefficient and diversity index of agronomic traits were 15.12% and 2.05,and those of quality traits were 11.96% and 2.02.The 222 hexaploid Triticale germ-plasms were clustered into 6 groups with significant differences of agronomic and quality traits among groups. Thus the introduced hexaploid Triticale germplasms had great disease resistance and abundant diversity in agro-nomic and quality traits,which could be used in wheat improvement.关键词
