A Switching Strategy of Current Harmonic Minimum PWM Based on the Stator Flux Trajectory of AC Traction Motors

Abstract
In high power occasions such as traction inverters of AC electrical locomotives, due the limitation of the switching frequency, voltage or current harmonics, the optimized PWM strategy is often needed, in which the current harmonic minimum PWM (CHMPWM) is considered in especial due to its excellent harmonic current performances. It can reduce the current harmonic obviously, thus has great advantages in the improvement of motor control performances and system efficiency. In this paper, after obtaining the switching angle curves of CHMPWM with respect to the modulation ratio, the stator flux trajectory under different switching angle numbers and different angle locations is analyzed. Based on that, taking induction machine as the load, a switching strategy of CHMPWM between different angle numbers and angle locations is proposed. This method eliminates the complex analysis of current harmonics before and after the switching and is very easy to be realized. Simulation and experimental results proved the validity of the theory analysis.关键词
